This is where I keep my Scribbles. These are little bits and pieces that I’ve jotted down myself that are effectively the quality of blog posts, or lower. Maybe I wrote them on the bus, or on the toilet. It’s just something that came to me.
Scribbles are categorized by substantiveness, not by topic:
- Prompts: these are functional entries that give me an idea about something I might want to write.
- Aphorisms: concentrated bits of wisdom that I’ve put come up with.
- Glosses are when I find a quote and add some brief comments to it. It’s a bit of a mix between a scrap and a scribble, but it has some kind of thesis, so it’s more than a scrap.
- Reflections: not quite an essay yet, but I’ve gotten my thoughts on the page (or screen) and I’ve played around with it a little bit.
- Essays: I’ve engaged more substantively with the material with a little more polish than usual.
