The Fool’s Story
Once upon a time there was a young man who knew nothing of the world. He was kept on his family’s large estate where he would be treated with beautiful clothes, foods, and women. He needn’t have worked for anything: anything he could have ever wanted would be provided for him. And yet, this grew stale. He grew bored of his lavish life. Something was missing, and he intended to learn what that was. So he set out with a small rucksack and his dog, against his parents’ wishes.
He admired the country scenery, its flowers, its large mountain ranges. Occasionally he would find himself taken advantage of, not relating to others, nor having any sense of where he was going. He wandered aimlessly through the towns and paths, eventually needing to pawn some of his most valuable possessions that he kept on his person for a bit of food or a roof over his head. All of this, of course, was above market rate, which seemed to have escaped him. He was simply curious to have these new experiences.
